Canada’s National Balloon Twisting Team Gains a New Director

Canada’s Twisted Five, Canada’s first national competitive balloon twisting team, is pleased to announce exciting changes to our management structure with the appointment of Drew Ripley as our new Director of Business.  Drew will be responsible for all matters pertaining to Canada’s Twisted Five fundraising, competition logistics, and general team management.

“To accept this responsibility with the team is such an honour,” says Drew. “This year, an organized Canadian team competed at the international level. We did well for our first appearance, and to become more organized and efficient preparing for the next world event in two years is really going to improve our chances.”

As a passionate balloon artist and public speaker, Drew brings with him over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry through his own company Drew Ripley Entertainment (Kitchener, Ontario).

Drew has been a key member of Canada’s Twisted Five, and participated with the team at the 2016 World Balloon Festival (www.worldballoonconvention.com New Orleans, USA).  Together they earned a Bronze Achievement for Technical Difficulty and Color in the Medium Sized Sculpture competition category.  This was the first time Canada has been represented at the Festival competitions.
